Australia’s first GLP‑1 tablet for weight loss received approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration. The medication, produced by Novo Nordisk, will replace weekly injections with a daily oral dose. It will become available for purchase by Christmas, following the TGA’s clearance. The approval comes with restrictions and several unknowns that remain to be clarified. Patients will be able to switch from injections to the tablet once it is on sale.
